[Three] Aftermath
Aug. 12th, 2007 11:33 pmHoly shit.
I don't know how many there were - there must've been ten or fifteen of them, but we managed to hold off the Death Eaters long enough for them to realize Potter wasn't here anymore and Disapparate. But shit, they sure left one hell of a mess behind. What a day for the Ministry to fall. At least no one was hurt too badly.
I think we're being watched. I mean, I guess that would make sense - they knew Potter was here, and they know that Ron's gone with him. Hermione too - I think I heard her say she'd gotten her parents to safety, so I guess I can only hope she was right. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley are on-edge, and Mrs. Weasley absolutely won't let Fred and George and me return to the store. The twins are pretty unhappy about that, but they aren't making a big deal about it because there's enough going on to be unhappy about without that added in. At least Bill and Fleur really... took it pretty well. I mean, not that I know what it's like to get married, but if Death Eaters crashed my wedding reception... well. That really sucks royally for them. At least the wedding went well enough - it really was a nice ceremony, until they showed up.
I wrote my dad, at least - I told him what happened, and that I'd be okay here. I mean, how else is he going to know about what happened? I don't think it was exactly on the news - well, I hope not. Or at least if it was, it definitely wouldn't have been the whole story. Sometimes I wonder if maybe he isn't safer that way - I mean, not knowing what's going on. Mr. Weasley said they'll send someone to put protective charms over our house, just in case. That makes me feel better - I mean, I'd do it myself, but... well. Seeing as I can't leave.
There are a lot of people here, and a lot going on. Maybe it's actually not so bad - if I find out anything about the state of things, I'll let you guys know. Ora, don't worry about leaving like that - I guess I can't really blame your dad, and I don't think Mr. Weasley was overly offended. Leah, I hope you got home safe and everything. And I guess maybe Syrien was right, Lysienne. It makes me wonder if... if maybe I can't try to help out somehow. I mean, Professor Trelawney's always going on about how I have such a good Inner Eye - I thought it was a load of bull, but maybe she's right? My hunches are usually right. I wonder if I shouldn't start looking through my old Divination books. At least it'll give me something to do for a while.

Date: 2007-08-13 09:08 am (UTC)That sucks that you can't return to the store. Diagon Alley will be hopelessly dreary now.
I'm glad Mr. Weasley isn't so offended, Merlin knows my father was. He gets like that sometimes, only cares about his own feelings, and he's very bad at hiding what he feels. Mum says he's just honest like that, but sometimes it can be a little rude.
Yes, some Divination is a good idea, especially if Professor Trelawney thinks you're good. Even if I don't trust her opinion on other things, I do trust her opinion on that.

Date: 2007-08-13 04:13 pm (UTC)Yeah, but Mrs. Weasley is pretty adamant. Hopefully once things quiet down a bit and the Death Eaters realize Potter's not going to come back here, she'll let us go back. Half of my school things are there, so I have to go back before September... It's a good thing Ginny and I are pretty much the same size, or I wouldn't even have that many clothes to wear!
Oh... yeah, well, fathers are like that sometimes. My dad's the same way, after a fashion. I think he spends so much time with books and professors that he forgets how to deal with the rest of the world. But Mr. Weasley's been all right, just... well, stressed. But that's to be expected.
I guess so - I mean, she's usually so full of that "It's the grim!" stuff that I don't know how credible she is. But I suppose I can start collecting everyone's teacups around here and take a look. I don't have a crystal ball or anything, but I'll brush up on our lessons and maybe I can sneak one away from the school's store of them when the semester starts.

Date: 2007-08-14 02:45 am (UTC)Do you think if you Apparated quickly in and out of Fred and George's place, that at least you might be able to grab your things before anyone realized you were there? Though Mrs. Weasley found out you went against her wishes, she'd probably skin you alive. I'm sure she knows the spell for it too. It's probably something pretty close to the one you use to scour pots and pans.
Oh, I wish I could give you my teacup. We have tea around here all the time, but every time I look at the bottom of my cup it just looks like a jumble of tea. Well, if you see anything about Draco in anyone's tea...

Date: 2007-08-14 03:07 am (UTC)Heh - that I don't know about. Mrs. Weasley would skin me alive if she found out, that's for sure. I guess I'll just wait until it gets closer to the start of the semester. If she's not letting us out of the house by then, I might have to resort to more desperate measures. But for now at least there's copies of all the Divination books already here (though they're kind of falling apart, I think they're Bill or Charlie's old books).
Yeah, at least there's a lot of tea-drinking going on here too, so I can maybe get a glimpse of the cups before they're washed. If I see anything that might pertain to you or Draco, I'll definitely let you know.

Date: 2007-08-14 04:29 am (UTC)Yes, please let me know if you see anything about Draco or Professor Snape. Even if it is, you know, the grim.

Date: 2007-08-14 04:47 am (UTC)I will, I promise. Hopefully I'll be able to see something we can use.
