[Three] Aftermath
Aug. 12th, 2007 11:33 pmHoly shit.
I don't know how many there were - there must've been ten or fifteen of them, but we managed to hold off the Death Eaters long enough for them to realize Potter wasn't here anymore and Disapparate. But shit, they sure left one hell of a mess behind. What a day for the Ministry to fall. At least no one was hurt too badly.
I think we're being watched. I mean, I guess that would make sense - they knew Potter was here, and they know that Ron's gone with him. Hermione too - I think I heard her say she'd gotten her parents to safety, so I guess I can only hope she was right. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley are on-edge, and Mrs. Weasley absolutely won't let Fred and George and me return to the store. The twins are pretty unhappy about that, but they aren't making a big deal about it because there's enough going on to be unhappy about without that added in. At least Bill and Fleur really... took it pretty well. I mean, not that I know what it's like to get married, but if Death Eaters crashed my wedding reception... well. That really sucks royally for them. At least the wedding went well enough - it really was a nice ceremony, until they showed up.
I wrote my dad, at least - I told him what happened, and that I'd be okay here. I mean, how else is he going to know about what happened? I don't think it was exactly on the news - well, I hope not. Or at least if it was, it definitely wouldn't have been the whole story. Sometimes I wonder if maybe he isn't safer that way - I mean, not knowing what's going on. Mr. Weasley said they'll send someone to put protective charms over our house, just in case. That makes me feel better - I mean, I'd do it myself, but... well. Seeing as I can't leave.
There are a lot of people here, and a lot going on. Maybe it's actually not so bad - if I find out anything about the state of things, I'll let you guys know. Ora, don't worry about leaving like that - I guess I can't really blame your dad, and I don't think Mr. Weasley was overly offended. Leah, I hope you got home safe and everything. And I guess maybe Syrien was right, Lysienne. It makes me wonder if... if maybe I can't try to help out somehow. I mean, Professor Trelawney's always going on about how I have such a good Inner Eye - I thought it was a load of bull, but maybe she's right? My hunches are usually right. I wonder if I shouldn't start looking through my old Divination books. At least it'll give me something to do for a while.
