Holy shit.

I don't know how many there were - there must've been ten or fifteen of them, but we managed to hold off the Death Eaters long enough for them to realize Potter wasn't here anymore and Disapparate. But shit, they sure left one hell of a mess behind. What a day for the Ministry to fall. At least no one was hurt too badly.

I think we're being watched. I mean, I guess that would make sense - they knew Potter was here, and they know that Ron's gone with him. Hermione too - I think I heard her say she'd gotten her parents to safety, so I guess I can only hope she was right. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley are on-edge, and Mrs. Weasley absolutely won't let Fred and George and me return to the store. The twins are pretty unhappy about that, but they aren't making a big deal about it because there's enough going on to be unhappy about without that added in. At least Bill and Fleur really... took it pretty well. I mean, not that I know what it's like to get married, but if Death Eaters crashed my wedding reception... well. That really sucks royally for them. At least the wedding went well enough - it really was a nice ceremony, until they showed up.

I wrote my dad, at least - I told him what happened, and that I'd be okay here. I mean, how else is he going to know about what happened? I don't think it was exactly on the news - well, I hope not. Or at least if it was, it definitely wouldn't have been the whole story. Sometimes I wonder if maybe he isn't safer that way - I mean, not knowing what's going on. Mr. Weasley said they'll send someone to put protective charms over our house, just in case. That makes me feel better - I mean, I'd do it myself, but... well. Seeing as I can't leave.

There are a lot of people here, and a lot going on. Maybe it's actually not so bad - if I find out anything about the state of things, I'll let you guys know. Ora, don't worry about leaving like that - I guess I can't really blame your dad, and I don't think Mr. Weasley was overly offended. Leah, I hope you got home safe and everything. And I guess maybe Syrien was right, Lysienne. It makes me wonder if... if maybe I can't try to help out somehow. I mean, Professor Trelawney's always going on about how I have such a good Inner Eye - I thought it was a load of bull, but maybe she's right? My hunches are usually right. I wonder if I shouldn't start looking through my old Divination books. At least it'll give me something to do for a while.

Oh, it's good to know that everyone's all right, and that Bill and Fleur, well...took it as well as they could. The fact that Potter's gone, it's both a relief and troubling at the same time. It's a relief because it means that You-Know-Who's first target is Potter. Perhaps he'll leave the rest of us alone if Potter's serving a significant diversion. It's also unfortunately troubling because it means that if Potter hasn't had contact with us over here, then he might not have help. He's been pretty lucky so far, but I don't even think he'd be able to hold up against a whole band of Death Eaters.

That sucks that you can't return to the store. Diagon Alley will be hopelessly dreary now.

I'm glad Mr. Weasley isn't so offended, Merlin knows my father was. He gets like that sometimes, only cares about his own feelings, and he's very bad at hiding what he feels. Mum says he's just honest like that, but sometimes it can be a little rude.

Yes, some Divination is a good idea, especially if Professor Trelawney thinks you're good. Even if I don't trust her opinion on other things, I do trust her opinion on that.

Knowing Potter, it's probably Granger who actually has the plan. At least it's three of them against You-Know-Who, and not just Potter himself. Granger seems to have enough sense in her to keep him and Ron alive. Though if all the Death Eaters in all of Britain are looking for him, I don't know how much longer he'll be able to keep hidden.

Do you think if you Apparated quickly in and out of Fred and George's place, that at least you might be able to grab your things before anyone realized you were there? Though Mrs. Weasley found out you went against her wishes, she'd probably skin you alive. I'm sure she knows the spell for it too. It's probably something pretty close to the one you use to scour pots and pans.

Oh, I wish I could give you my teacup. We have tea around here all the time, but every time I look at the bottom of my cup it just looks like a jumble of tea. Well, if you see anything about Draco in anyone's tea...

If they're smart, they'll lay low for a while. And they're missing, I'm wondering if more and more You-Know-Who will start turning his eye toward the rest of us.

Yes, please let me know if you see anything about Draco or Professor Snape. Even if it is, you know, the grim.
