I just ran into Ginny on the Quidditch Pitch. She passed me a note saying that she, Neville, and maybe one or two other members of the DA are going to try to sneak into Snape's office and steal the sword of Gryffindor. She said she wants me to know as more of a backup than anything - if anything happens to them, at least someone will know what happened.

It doesn't sit right with me to just let them go in blind - not when we essentially have the headmaster's office bugged and we can tell when he's usually there or not. I think we should offer to help if we can. What do you think? I'm good at playing lookout.

So what I'm getting out of this so far is that Ginny and Neville and probably some other people they've roped into this, are trying to get a sword they don't know the exact location to a person nobody's been able to find for months.

Doesn't this seem even the slightest bit reckless to them?

Ugh, Gryffindors. No sense at all in any of them. Though to be honest, it's not as if anyone in our house is any better, what with a few of them being Death Eaters themselves.

If they're bent on trying this, we should talk with them. Maybe we can come up with some sensical ideas for them so they don't get killed, or worse, tortured and expelled.

I'd hate to call it an obligation to help them. I'd rather say that we're doing it out of the goodness of our hearts because we don't want to see them screw everything up.

Fine, I'm all right with helping them at least find out when Snape's in his office or not, but I don't want to do more until I at least speak to them to make sure they know what to do once they've got it.

I don't want to leave my friends out to dry, but I also am not going to take place in any scheme that I don't think is well thought out. We should think of a way to meet up, or communicate. On the Quidditch pitch maybe? That might be the best place, I'm too wary of prying eyes and eavesdropping within the castle.

[OOC: My impression of what they were trying to accomplish was just getting the sword out of Snape's hands, though it's not like he was doing anything with it anyway. I think they were just trying to help Harry, because hey Harry, you don't know how to use a sword, really, but having one might help!]

That sounds fine. I really do hope Ginny knows what she's doing and that she's absolutely certain about doing this, because if she, Neville, and whoever else is in on this fail, the Carrows are going to be delighted and I would not want to see that.

If their plan is only half-baked, we're either going to have to tell them they ought to abort, or fix it for them. And I'd rather the former than the latter to be completely honest.

I hope Potter's doing something useful out there and he really needs that sword, or I am going to wring his neck and see if he lives through that.

Is there anybody that Gryffindors ever listen to besides themselves? Seriously. And think we Slytherins are self-absorbed. I really hope they've thought this through more than it seems they have.

If Potter's really gone, I hope he has the sense to stay hidden. If anybody--anybody at all--knows his whereabouts he is in serious danger. Worst of all, I can't help but think this may be an elaborate trap set up by You-Know-Who and Professor Snape and they're falling right into it.

I've got a bad feeling about this.

I think I trust Ginny to have the most sense of those three. Mostly because I've seen how Neville's been acting recently, and if he hasn't already, he's going to end up on the wrong side of a Carrow's wand sooner or later.

Oh dear, it's true...what if Potter has been caught? Why would You-Know-Who bother covering it up, though? It's the only thing that's keeping the Order going. I would think that if I were You-Know-Who, I'd trot him out the moment I got a hold of him, just to take the life out of those who are opposing me. He better still be out there, somewhere. Hermione knows better than to get caught this early, I hope.

[OOC: Er, weren't they also getting it because Ginny knew it was something Dumbledore bequeathed to Harry in his will, but the Ministry wouldn't let him have it because it's a speciamacal magical artifact? I think the reasoning was that if Dumbledore left it to him, it must be something he needs to defeat Voldemort...]

[OOC: Oh yeah, I think I remember something about that. That's a good idea, actually. Ora is more likely to trust Dumbledore's judgement than either Harry or Ginny's, so if Ginny tells her that Dumbledore bequeathed it to Harry and that he might be needing it, that'll be more convincing than anything for Ora to at least help a little, even if it does go against every grain of common sense she's got. :3 Sounds good!]
