Ora stuffed her sash and a spare change of clothes in her bag, and bounded down the stairs to grab her winter coat from the closet in the hallway. "Mum! Dad! I'm ready!" she shouted, stuffing her arms through the sleeves and doing a quick check through the list in her mind to make sure she had packed everything she needed, and everything that would make it seem like she was going to a legitimate sleepover at the Burrow.
"Mm hm," Ora's father said simply as he folded his copy of The Daily Prophet and set it down on the sitting room table. He shot his daughter a dubious look. Ora smiled up at him cheerfully, as if nothing was wrong. She mitigated it a little when her father's look turned more severe.
"You know if you get lost, Ora, you're breaking curfew."
Ora rolled her eyes. "Yeah, Dad, I know. But I'm eighteen! I can Apparate properly; I'm not going to get lost or end up in the middle of the woods."
Ambassador Yang's mouth twitched as if he didn't completely believe his daughter, but had to actually refrain from telling her so. "I'll leave the wards down for five minutes," he said simply, drawing his wand from the fold of his robes, "so if you get lost you can Apparate back."
"Okay, Dad," Ora said. She rolled her eyes again.
"Have you got everything?" Ora's mum asked. She rose from the couch and looked pointedly at Ora's bag.
"Yup," Ora said with a nod. "And if not, I'm sure Alison can lend me something."
"Toothbrush?"
Ora nodded. "Packed it already, Mum."
Ora's mother simply nodded and smiled, and came around the sofa to give her daughter a hug and a kiss. "Well, Happy New Year, and enjoy the night with your friends."
"Thanks!" Ora gave her mum and dad a hug and a kiss each. Her father still did not look entirely happy as he closed his eyes and hummed the chant to lift the anti-Apparition wards surrounding their house, but Ora still managed a smile as she waved and then thought very hard of the Burrow.
*~*~*~*~*
Ottery St. Catchpole was even colder than London, and even in a thick scarf and coat Ora was shivering. She had appeared about one hundred meters out from the Burrow, and was throughly cold by the time she got to the door and lifted a hand to knock politely at it. Even though the house seemed quiet from the outside, Ora wondered if anyone would hear here--after all, she could not imagine that a rescue the proportions of breaking in and out of Azkaban would take any less than a good chunk of the Order.

Date: 2008-10-05 03:00 am (UTC)"Even if they don't have the element of surprise, the Order isn't stupid. They know how to handle themselves. They'll be prepared," Alison said firmly, and Lysienne nodded in agreement.
"If you think about it, the information could have come from anyone," Lysienne added. "During the last war, weren't many witches and wizards enslaved by the Dark Lord using Imperius? I think the Order is probably prepared for that."
That certainly seemed to be the case as Lysienne and her friends rejoined the Order members. Their determination was almost palpable in the room, though Lysienne shuddered at the words "minimal loss of life".
After Mrs. Weasley finished handing out the bags of Portkeys, Lysienne quickly said, "I'll be right back" and followed her out into the kitchen. She pulled out the two remaining bottles from her bag and held them out to Mrs. Weasley. "Um, Mrs. Weasley, these are...potions that I thought might help. This is a general-purpose healing potion, and this is a Pepperup potion. I realize that I'm just a student, but these were made from fresh ingredients from the school stores, and I think they'll be very effective."
Mrs. Weasley took the bottles from Lysienne, but peered at them a bit dubiously. "That's very thoughtful of you, dear, but..."
"You can trust her on those, Molly," a quiet voice said from behind them, and Lysienne turned to see Lupin join them.
"Professor Lupin!" Lysienne smiled thankfully, and he patted her shoulder.
"I recall you always had a talent for the Healing arts," he said kindly. "Has Professor Slughorn's class been interesting?"
"Oh, um..." Seeing her eyes fall, he guided her slightly aside from Mrs. Weasley as she opened a cupboard and bottles filed out of it, floated in a glittering circle above her head.
"I'm not...actually taking Professor Slughorn's class," she admitted in a small voice.
"I see."
Mistaking his reply for doubt, Lysienne quickly explained, "I received permission to use the school potions stores because I'm helping Madam Pomfrey in the infirmary."
"Ah." Lupin didn't press her further about the subject, but after a moment of silence, he abruptly asked, "Lysienne, can you tell me exactly what happened when Professor Snape gave you that warning?"
Lysienne abruptly went cold all over. Did he think that she had betrayed the Order? Could she have? "I-I was in the Owlery," she stammered. "P-Professor Snape came up and asked why I wasn't in the Great Hall. I told him that I was waiting for a letter from m-my guardian. He said that he hoped I would receive it before curfew, and gave me that warning."
Lupin's eyes sharpened. "And when was the last time you spoke with him, before that?"
Lysienne bit her lip, thinking back. After the incident with the Sword of Gryffindor, she had not seen him again either in the infirmary or in her potion room. She shook her head. "N-not since two months ago."
"I see." He was quiet again, thinking.
"P-Professor Lupin, do you think that I was the one who?"
He shook his head firmly. "No. There are too many ways in which the information could have gotten out. I'm increasingly convinced that Harry did the right thing by going off on his own, with the Wizarding World the state it's in... Lysienne, I hope and your friends will be careful tonight. If anything should happen, get yourselves out first. Do you understand?"
Lysienne nodded, and he smiled. "Good," he said, as Mrs. Weasley came back with a small tray of bottles.
"Now, Lysienne, these are for yourself and your friends. A bottle of your potions and a Calming Draught for each of you. Remus, would you help me distribute the rest?"
Lupin nodded, and all of them moved back into the room.
Lysienne rejoined her friends in time to hear Alison say, "I'll go with Kahvi." Kahvi nodded, and Lysienne smiled apologetically at Ora.
"Hope you don't mind being stuck with me." She remembered the bottles in her hands and passed them to her friends. "I hope we won't have to use these..."
[OOC: Oh dear, I did give myself away, didn't I? BTW, am I supposed to know about Draco?]
