parcel pick-up
Oct. 6th, 2007 02:40 pmWell, that was a nice trip to Hogsmeade. It's refreshing to be able to get out of school for once and see what it's like out there, but sadly it's not going too well in Hogsmeade either. It was very quiet and subdued when we went after class to pick up Professor Slughorn's parcels, doesn't seem like the people in Hogsmeade are gathering much anymore. Fred and George even treated Alison and me to some butterbeers at The Three Broomsticks, but it was a lot emptier there than I remember. Maybe that's just to be expected, because we usually only go there on school trips when it's crowded to capacity, but it really was different, and I don't think it was the lack of Hogwarts students that accounted for it.
Hopefully by now the Order will know that the Minister of Magic is under the Imperius Curse by some Death Eater named Yaxley. From the list that got passed onto me, it seems that several of the higher ups in the Ministry are either Death Eater sympathizers themselves or under the curse as well, which really worries me about how deep You-Know-Who's corruption runs.
At any rate, I hope we use up those potions ingredients fast, because there's always information the Order could use, and well...you can tell that Alison really misses Fred and George, and they miss her a lot too.

Long distance relationships are hard. Though I suppose it must feel like that sometimes with Draco, when he isolates himself.

Date: 2007-10-06 10:55 pm (UTC)The horrible thing about being in a relationship with Draco at the moment is that there isn't supposed to be a relationship as far as anyone's concerned. I'm so afraid that one day he's going to get caught by You-Know-Who--even though he says he's very good at Occlumency--and that'll just be the end of him, and I won't even know until weeks later. But I'm glad he's in all my classes, so at least I see him every day, even if I can't say anything to him. He is looking better since we had our talk a couple of weeks ago. The worst thing is that I can't do anything to help him either, the only connection we have is a piece of parchment. At least you and Fred and George owl a lot and they came to see you in Hogsmeade. Sometimes I wish I had a boyfriend (or two, in your case) whom I wasn't scared half to death for.

Date: 2007-10-06 11:16 pm (UTC)Yeah, it seems awfully unfair that we have to sit and worry and wonder if the people we care about are going to be okay. I don't know if I have it much better, though - you do get to see Draco, at least. If something happened to Fred or George I don't even know if Mrs. Weasley would think to owl me. I guess I can hope Ginny would tell me... but I really hope nothing happens, period. But they're in the Order too, I suppose they're not incredibly safe either... I don't think either of us wants to spend the whole school year worrying about boys!

I do hope that if something happened to Fred, or George, or both of them, that at least Mrs. Weasley would think of you! I think she is rather fond or you, even if she tries to deny that you're dating both of her twins.
Stupid boys, always getting themselves into trouble. First Potter, now Draco, and of course there's your boys, because things out there are just getting worse and worse as the days wear on. I really miss those days when all we had to worry about were exams.

I guess I can always hope. I think she does like me all right, but I know she tends to get a little... frantic when it comes to making sure her family is safe. At least she'd tell Ginny, and I'm sure Ginny would tell me.
Seriously - I'd like to think that they can take care of themselves, but... circumstances are rather extenuating.
